Cyril and the human

Chapter One.

Once upon a time, on a distant Isle, there lived a dragon called Cyril. Cyril had shiny pink scales, misty deep blue wings and a set of big yellow eyes. The land where Cyril lived, was named Dragon Isle after its inhabitants. The dragons lived in harmony, eating only when they must and trying to keep the damage to the minimum.
Now Cyril was unfortunately allergic to any of the normal food stuffs that Dragon Isle provided, soon Cyril discovered the only thing he could get without getting terrible hives was fair maidens.
Cyril’s elder brother, Julian the dragon king, was sick of his brother who refused to the usual dragon food; cabbage and water buffalo. King Julian and his seven advisers plotted a plan together in their tall grey stone tower. Julian wanted to get rid of Cyril since they were children, because Cyril had always gotten more attention because of his needy feeding habits. Julian and his evil advisers devised an evil plan…
“Cyril!” Julian called running after him down the grey stone corridor.
Cyril turned to see his pale blue brother loping towards him. Cyril waved, “Something wrong?”
Julian skidded to a halt, slipping slightly on the stone floor. “There’s…” Julian bend over with his front claws on his knees, “… and he’s made a magic portal…” Julian puffed.
Cyril raised an eyebrow, “A portal?”
The blue dragon nodded, “Yep, and there’s a land full of fair maidens!” Julian exclaimed.
Cyril’s eyes widened. “Can you show me?” He asked, feeling an urge to jump up and down on the spot.
Julian grabbed Cyril’s wrist and half dragged him back down the corridor.
The portal was twice Cyril’s height and stood in the centre of a bridge. The stone bridge stopped at the portal so it looked like it was hanging from the swirling red and gold vertical pool.
Julian and Cyril approached the portal together, “I’ve already been, it’s beautiful. There is a massive town full of maidens. I had to tell you about it, you’ll love it there.” Julian said as the stepped onto the bridge.
Cyril touched the swirling pattern and it rippled out from where he touched it, his hand lost. “The portal is permanent right?” Cyril asked, with a sly glance at his brother.
Julian rolled his eyes, “Of course, I got back. Just go have a look around, there can only be one dragon going through at a time. Have a snack, I’ll be here when you get back.”
Cyril laughed, “Great, see you in a bit.” Cyril leaped through the portal.
Julian took a step back and leant against the wooden bridge. The portal closed at Cyril when through. “Idiot.” He muttered to himself walking back to his grey stone palace.
