Of dragons part three

Mornings,

Well I've started reading Game of Thrones again, gosh I love that book. Am asking for the rest of the series for Christmas. I'll admit, I'd never even heard of it until I saw the TV series, and after watching the Borgias, I understand the Guardian quote on the front cover.

I think I've probably already said this, but my favourite character is of course Daenerys Targaryen. Come on, Dragonlady! But even if she wasn't so associated with dragons I think I would still love her. Also second time reading it through, I've noticed the similarities between the Dothraki and the people of the Plains from the Warprize, Warsworn and Warlord books by Elizabeth Vargen... which is kinda awesome and adds to my ideas that all stories are mealy real events from parallel world.

But on my second reading, I've decided I also adore the Lannisters. My gosh, they are evil and awesome. They have a love/hate/ hate to love quality, that is almost reminiscent of the Malfoys from Harry Potter. Also check out the awesome quote to the left. Said by Tyrion the imp. I know the quote is talking about Jon and him being a bastard, but the quote spoke to me. I've been called some pretty mean and spiteful things in the past and hell, hasn't everyone? I like the quote, amour yourself with it and then it cannot be used to hurt you. That's pretty powerful if you can achieve such a state.

Talking about Jon Snow... him I don't like. I don't know why, but I just find him a bit whiny. But what can I say, at least there is a dragon on the wall. That makes my life better. The Starks generally annoy me, I think because they are trying to be the good guys and I have a lot more sympathy for the 'we're going to win and kick small children out of windows...' side. Not that I don't like Ayra, she seems to be the only one with any sense, and I love the idea of Needle. That is brilliant.

On the other hand, I think I love when Jon calls Joffrey a little shit to Ayra, just made me imagine Joff trying to sing about Pigfarts and the lights dying on him... and if he could have rolled on the floor a little more that would have been beautiful.

Week seven

Mornings,

A day early or so, I know. But its that last day of term, (going by the new 6 terms in a year system, or the end of the first half term going by the old 3 term system.) And so much has happened, an alien space ship landed in school and beamed my friend up into the hold. I was left with Emily and Zoe on the ground and we formed a league of awesome people to get them back.

After arguing about which political party was the best, Zoe voting for Tory, Emily voting for all politicians are stupid and me voting for the Pretty Party, a political party that believes that they are all too pretty to go into politics. Heather turned up with her hidden narwhals and Heather and I formed a coalition of the Pretty Party and the Party of shoes and glitter. Anyway, the aliens were probing the others.

But back on earth. I had woken up from my day dream and found I was an alien and I was chasing all the people I didn't like into the hall and then I killed them...

Well, my actually week was far less dull, although there really was a coalition between the Pretty Party and the Party of Shoes and Glitter, and Heather got a shuttlecock stuck in the net in the gym and then we named our rackets Earnest and Roland respectivly.

I also drew three more politics dragons this week; the Tory Dragon, the Liberal Dragon and the Ecology Dragon, one for each of my topics that we've done in politics. Next we'll be doing socialism and I have no idea how I'm going to draw that dragon.

Also Zoe and I had an argument about if My fair Lady or Evita were better. Clearly she is mistaken when she says My Fair Lady.

First follower

Mornings,

I came onto my blog this morning like usual to check on Cyril and just look at my page views and I found I had a follower! After getting far to excited, I clicked to see who it was... then I got an error message, the computer restarted itself and finally, drum roll please... it was a Tory. Who incidentally is the original inspiration for the first politics dragon.

Apart from the I don't really have any news, except I've started naming my Sopio cards; The man with the giant head is called Dara. Brownie points if you understand that. Talking about Sopio, while hidding in a bathroom at a friends house for another friend how was coming round for a suprice birthday party, we played Sopio... and Symone was playing from in the bath, because she's ... cool?

NB, lolwihad means laughing out loud, wishing I had a dragon. lolwihad.

Week six

Mornings,

It's been a good week, I can tell from the four empty packets of skittles in my bag. Really like the watermelon ones from the core change-y ones. I've also almost finished my UCAS application, hopefully I will be able to get it done by the end of next week.

In other news, I've send out the invites to my 18th birthday party, in Jan, YAY... but long time away, so no yay. Should be good, except Dad wants to make a speech... and is now telling me that I also need to make a speech. I didn't sign up for making a speech.

Talking about skittles, I want more skittles... anyway. Moving away from skittles, I drew three more politics dragons today, each on a topic that has been covered in politics lessons; Tory, Liberal and Ecology dragons. They'll hopefully (if the scanner works) be loaded up to dA within a few days.

I've also managed this week to write some more of my novel called the Chronicals of Hezjena and bugged most of mu friends to proof read the latest part/chapter/bit/thing. Which is brillaint, and I'm using all the insults that I've built up but couldn't actally use against the fool, so yay.

Other than that I've been watching Stargate again, SG1... not as good as Atlantis. I've seen every episode of Atlantis, but I tend to get bored of SG1. Don't know why.

My friend has just started a blog, so I'll include a link at the bottom of the page, when I get round to it.

For now,
Ankh.

Comments from a friend

Morning,

A friend, who has been reading my blog, told me today I was being too depressing. So, I've decided no more of that, never on my blog again.

I also had a revelation today. Dear Fool, I believe I won.

In dragon related new, we had a big draw at school, and of course I drew a politics dragon. It's now proudly displayed next to Fred the Stegosaurus and the unnamed Narwhal, at the top of the stairs between the two art room. Makes me smile every time I walk down that corridor. Which is handy because I practically live down that corridor now. It was depressing today, having general studies not down the corridor. Actually had to walk over to the other side of the school.

I've started revising European history, because I'm doing a retake in Jan and realised I'm actually going to have to learn everything again... strange all I can remember is how much I hate them all. The Catholics annoy me, Luther annoys me, Zwingly annoys me, Calvin annoys me, the Jesuits annoy me, Erasmus is alright though because his real name was Gerrit Gerritzoon. And that is epic. Dear Catholic Chruch, why isn't there more dragons?

Of dragons part two

Mornings,

Keeping to my promise of only one totally dragon related topic per month.
Oh, I've just posted up the first chapter of Cyril and Human in case you'd like to read it, its on the link to the left... I think. Don't know left from rig... I mean... I just need to check which side the tool bar is on... ha... ha...

Moving on. Dragons. And I thought this month, I'd talk about the dragon time clock thingy in Wicked. It was above the stage in the production that I when to see and I still don't understand what the heck that thing is. I love the books, and I've read it a couple times, also read Son of a Witch, and I'm waiting for one of my friends, cough, Emily, cough, to get the one about the Lion so I can read that one as well.

I've looked on quite a few online articals to see if anyone really understand what the time dragon is, and there are quite a few theories. One which I quite like is that the time dragon is the one that is telling the story. Got to love a story from a dragon's point of view.

This is going to have to be short and sweet... I seem to have misplaced a DVD... the hunt begins. I'll hopefully finish this... might not... might just write something else. Oh, I'm so mysterious... yep. Alright then.

For now,

Week three

Morning,

Had a wisdom tooth finish coming through today, and while I managed to get a bag of skittles out of it, I do also now reek of oil of cloves. Smells kinda like Christmas, but tastes foul.

Talking about Christmas, my sopio cards did come eventually, and myself and a couple friends have our own tournament, losers buy the winner a bag of skittles at Yule. So far, I've won two games, Emily's won four *cough* cheat, and Zoe's still on the roundest of all numbers... 0.

In other news, I drew a politics dragon on the school big draw. Not that exciting, but I have yet to draw a politics dragon in politics this term. Politics is getting a bit more interesting, isms. Yay. Done Ecology, basically go environment, and Liberalism, basically go freedoms.

Got some new lipstick, MUA shade two, I like it.

Yep, I know its like turning onto the news and there is an article about Marvin the trombone playing meerkat... I really don't have anything to report. This week has pretty much been dull.

Well, I did get to play hero, I think... but the story isn't finished yet, and there is nothing more annoying that a cliffhanger. So next week I'll tell all... maybe.

I've downloaded the Still Got Legs album to my mp, along with the Starship soundtrack... so kinda confusing when I get the songs mixed up... but they are both about Aliens.

Dragons!

For now,
Ankh

Oh, I am starting to learn Middle Egyptian, in preparation for university. And therefore the word that has made my laugh the loudest is the symbols for 'donkey' which goes, symbol for a, symbol for phallus, determinative symbol for donkey... why... its a strange language but I actually really like it. It's logical.

Week two

Morning,

Feeling low, yay. Things just don't seem to be going quite right, and little things are irrating me so much. I've broken one of my nails, its actually depressing. I know... sounds so stupid. I have a to do list longer than all the dragons in the world tail to tooth. Dragons should cheer me up. I've got a note on my phone that says;

Strip out everything,
All the lies, more importantly;
The truth.
And throw it all away.
Throw it far away.

Yet the yesteryear forgets,
All the grey beginnings.
And the baptisms in red
And let it fly away.
Let it fly far away.

I don't even remember writing it. I feel an emptiness in my life, something missing, taunting me from the sides lines. Words from whispered conversations keep going over in my head that I daren't write down for fear of making them true.

A tree fell down in the strong winds we've been having this week. There used to be two, standing on each side of the road, one was a crab apple tree and the other looked dead. The second tree never had any leaves, but both of the trees curved so they looked like they were trying to form a gate over the road. The dead tree as I used to call it, suddenly started flowering year before last. Now it has fallen, it didn't have any roots. I feel like the gate is closed, no way back.

Dear Fool, I knew the toll when I crossed the bridge.

Maybe things could have been different, but I never said I was a good person.

Ankh

Week one

Morning,

Well its been a week since I've posted anything... and its been a long week. School has been good to get back to, and I did an RS essay, twice. But still its been good to get back. It's unfortunate to see some people have managed to get back when I was sure their grades wouldn't be high enough, fool.ish people. I don't think I'll mention any names just to keep things ambiguous, because I hardly want to get sued.

In other news, I've started writing a story called Cyril and the Human, which is a rewrite of George and the Dragon but from the dragon's point of view. I'm writing not only because I'm awesome but as the creative writing part of the girl guiding Commonwealth award. Yay. When it's done I think I'll add Cyril to the site for entertainment purposes... hopefully.

Yesterday I went down with Dad to Swansea University, which I think I'm in love with! I was to study Egyptology there, and we went to look around to see if 'I liked the atmosphere' not quite sure what that means but I liked it. I'm actually in love with the Egyptian Museum. Talked to a few people there about the course and its so beautiful, and one of them gave me a reading list... only problem is I can't for the life of me remember her name and I left the reading list on the side next to the game of Senet. Therefore I can't exactly email saying dear really friendly person I talked to yesterday, I was the person in the blue top, and I'm an idiot. I think I've managed to find all the books on amazon, or at least the authors that were suggested so panic is temporarily averted.

I still need to write my personal statement... I'm not too sure how to translate; omgoshimsoexcitingthisisgoingtobesobeautifuliloveegpytomgoshwoop. Into enthusiastic English without ending up on the 'crazy' pile. Oh well, shiz happens.

For now,
Ankh

Oh, woe

Morning,

Tomorrow I go back to school. I'm actually half excited because I want to see my friends again, and being an extrovert and desperate to get back to gossip. But since I haven't done an essay yet that I need for tomorrow... I'm blogging. Yer I know; honestly I'll do it tomorrow afternoon. We go in until break; yay for 6th form. Then we come home again.

I've just got a poster of Daenerys Targaryen that I've been waiting for. I love it, except I would prefer it to have the words 'Fire doesn't kill a dragon' rather than 'I do not have a gentle heart' but it's still awesome.

I had an odd feeling this morning, it doesn't feel like a Sunday. I guess I'm excited about going back; but some of my friends might not be getting back into the next year because they didn't get the grades. I know its selfish but I really want them to stay because it feels likes slowly (and in certain cases spectacularly) I've been losing friends this year... I think I'm down to 1.5 really close friends. Heck I don't know why I'm complaining, I've had less and survived. Shit happens and you throw them back and ask for lemonade... I think I got that saying confused...

I'm really annoyed with Sopio cards. I ordered the first deck and bonus pack at the start of August and I'm still waiting for them to turn up. I know post doesn't come on a Sunday, (thank you Harry Potter 1) but I'm still looking out the window expectantly. Even more annoying, is that next Saturday there is a tournament in Birmingham and I'm going to be in Birmingham but there is no point even looking if I'll be able to get there because the stupid cards haven't turned up. I would have liked to go but instead I'll be looking round the university. Yay, Ancient History!

Just in mention to Harry Potter I just realised there are 7 dragons in it that I can think of... I'll have to dedicate a month!

Pinch, punch, first of the month.

Morning,

So and update on all things dragonishus... okay scrap that line.
Yesterday I when to London and saw Potted Potter. All 7 books in 70 minutes. It was awesome; thank you last minute tickets! £25 for stall tickets. Got to say I loved the firebreathing-really expensive-googlie-eyed dragon from book four! And our side won the quidditch game; go Slytheryin!

I've also decided that as much as I love the prices in Primark... I hate the people that shop there. After attempting to take back a skirt that I realised I'd picked up in the wrong side... I was cut three times in the cue and ended up just buying another skirt without taking the other one back because it's only £7 I've lost and I wanted to actually get home that night. Just wondering, if someone cuts the cue in front of you, does anyone actually tell them to get to the back? I considered it a couple times but did the British thing and tried to ignore it. Sigh.

I brought the Golden Compass, because I hoped that would clarify the plot of Northern Lights... which I really don't understand. I also don't understand what was so hard about the title Northern Lights... but hey. Golden monkey. I think the reason I don't really like it, is because there isn't any dragons. I am joking, I just don't like the whole, 'Lyra is going to do something! And it's going to bad.' The whole way through the book, but no one has actually said what she's going to do. I understand foreshadowing (thanks AVPM) but a bit of a clue would be nice.

The day that never ends

Morning,

Well I'm currently bored out my mind sitting in my room, raining outside, wondering what can I do for my next blog. I want to talk about interesting things, but my best idea at the moment is a blog about how great A3 paper is... yep I think the Muses are on holiday.

I reading my way though Northern Lights, I don't really understand it, but hey its alright. It's the first time I've read it, but I have seen the film. I don't really know what to make of it, I've just got to the bit in the Fens... woop for the Fens :D... I hope things get explained fairly soon or I may put it down for Across the Wall.

I'm really excited for the next episode of Doctor Who, I was never really into it before, because - don't hate me - but I really don't like David Tennent. But have started watching my way though the old episodes. My theories are;
That River Song either kills the Doctor, or she may kill Rory.
The Doctor that was killed by the Astronaut could be a ganger... but that would need an explanation of why he didn't turn into white slime.
I think that River Song is the child that was in the astronaut suit... but she might not be because she didn't seem to recognise the suit when it was found empty... therefore it might be her.

I'm also really disappointed because I wanted a top from dA, but after googling how long it would take for it to be sent from the US to the UK... I decided I didn't want to wait, but now I'm stuck in a kind of disappointment, because I washed both of my parents cars to get the money... and now no reward. But Mum is taking me to London next Wed, so hopefully I can find something to buy (in all of London) to make up for it.

I've also decided that I'm not taking English Lit for A2, which means I don't have to read Frankenstein. Got to say that’s a bit of a relief... I'm about half way through and if I said I hated it, that wouldn't be a hyperbole. It's so painfully dull, it just goes on and on, and I lost the will to care shortly after I turned the front cover. And it also means I won't have to do English coursework... YAY! I was going to drop Politics... but hey, there be dragons.

Hope this has been slightly entertaining.

For now,
Ankh.

Of dragons part one

Morning,

I'm going to start a review of dragon related things, one per month (otherwise I'll run out of ideas before September.) Well today, after waking up feeling like death warmed up, and finding out the hard way that I have a stomach bug... I decided to go online to see what I could buy because shopping cheers everyone up. And YAY, the fourth book in the Inheritance Cycle is available for pre order, click!

I'm really excited about the next one, and I really want to find out who the last rider is, my money is on Roran. And I want to find out if anything happens between Ayra and Eragon, and the big question which dragon with will Saphira's mate. But let’s step back for the moment and look over the exciting books and movie.

As you may be able to guess, I LOVE the books... the film, grrr. The film was a total let down for me, why is Ayra a red head for starters, and where did Katrina go? Why don't the Urgals have horns and where is the blessing of the baby and why all the lovey-dove between Ayra and Eragon? Why does Saphira have feathers? - She's a dragon not a archaeopteryx.

I do have the answer to why the Urgals don't have horns, from watching the special features. They wanted the Urgals to be realistic... what? You're making a film about dragons and magic and you want the creatures in the book to be 'human.' That's the most ridiculous reason ever, it would be like when Lord of the Rings was filmed they would have decided to make Gollam and Shelob 'human' to make it more realistic. Please, disbelieve has been suspended by the dragons, I think our imagination can deal with horned people. Example, Mr Tumnas.

But, let's leave the movie for the moment... tear ourselves way. I think the books are really well written and I particularly enjoy the small details, for example the social details that differ from race to race. Anyway, am deeply looking forward to Inheritance and the Green dragon.

For now,
Ankh

Welcome

Morning all,

I've been thinking about starting a blog all summer, but finally am so bored out of my mind, I've got to do something. There are only so many back episodes of 'Friends,' before you feel you mind is going to explode. This effort, I believe should be classed as a more or less serious attempt.

Politics and dragons, I feel I should explain my not-really-so creative title. I've been doing politics for a year, and turns out from my AS results, I'm going to be doing it for another year. Politics is dull, there really is not better way to say it... but ponder this scene for a second; the House of Commons, Cameron standing at the desk in the centre, about to open his mouth, and poof a dragon turns up. Suddenly everyone will want to know whats been happening in the green room.

So, my name is Anhk, it's not really, but hey I'm on the internet, my name is surely less important that what I have to say. Problem is I'm not too sure what I have to say. Maybe I should explain AV months after necessary, because, go me, I actually know how its works. Gone off topic, I like the font ariel, and I don't like times new roman... note; not good at finding the topic. I hope these posts are amusing in some way, even if you're just laughing at me. Oh, my favourite colour is purple and I do live in England (and spell English, with 'U's in 'OUR's) I don't fancy changing the way I spell, mainly because I really can't to begin with, and making Sulphur, Sulfer, just looks wrong to me. I think I'm going to stop talking now before I start ranting.

For Now,
Ankh
